The Conference
Since its modest beginning in 1996 as a forum for informal discussions between leading energy insurers and their loss adjusters, the annual Lillehammer Energy Claims Conference has grown to encompass representatives from global oil & gas companies, claims brokers and certain specialist service providers.
In 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 the conference attracted capacity attendances of some 220 delegates and speakers. In recent years participants from America, Angola, Australia, Bermuda, Canada, Denmark, Dubai, France, Germany, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, The Netherlands, Norway, Qatar, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, the U.K., Venezuela, Vietnam and elsewhere, have clearly justify the conference's claim to be the premier international energy claims forum.
The 2012 Conference will take place during Wednesday 29th February to Friday 2nd March 2012 at the Quality Hotel Hafjell, Oyer, near Lillehammer in Norway. Use this link to electronically submit your application to attend the 2012 Conference.
Attendance at the Conference is, in general, restricted to representatives of underwriters, claims adjusters, insureds, claims brokers and other service providers directly involved in claims arising from offshore energy risks.
The Conference is not open to members of the legal professions although the Committee will usually issue a very limited number of specific invitations to lawyers closely involved with subjects under discussion. To encourage an atmosphere of open debate and participation, opinions expressed at the event are considered personal to the speakers and members of the media are excluded.
Delegates are always encouraged though Q&A and commentary sessions to play an active part in the Conferences' interactive programmes.
If you attended the 2011 Conference we would ask you to provide your feedback via this link.
